New Afton Mine Thickened and Amended Tailings Building

THE PROJECT

The thickened and amended tailings project uses an industrial concrete foundation system designed for the projects tailings thickener. Acres was responsible for the completion of concrete foundations and electrical grounding for the new TAT building, paste thickener, electrical substations, and all TAT building slabs on grade and miscellaneous concrete items.

Acres was responsible for all civil infrastructure and finishing of access roadways, we completed all underground utilities including electrical, water, sewage, and firewater services to the building. In November 2021, Acres was responsible for a successful
2200m3 concrete pour for the TAT building foundation, which is a 28 sided polygon with a diameter of over 40 metres.
