Acres took part in the first ever Jill of all Trades event at Okanagan College in Kelowna last month. Girls in grades 9 – 12 are introduced to the possibilities of a career in the skilled trades and technologies.
Acres’ Civil leadership team member, Danika was a mentor in the welding workshop, inspiring the next generation.
Our Culture and Engagement Manager, Francesca Loehr also took part in the “Who AM I?” presentation put on by the Kamloops-Thompson School District. Using only yes or no questions, students try to guess the jobs of three guests, followed by a talk on their career-life path and current roles.
It is always an honour to connect with ambitious students, while giving them a glimpse of the endless possibilities and career paths awaiting them.
