𝐌𝐞𝐞𝐭 𝐁𝐫𝐚𝐞𝐝𝐞𝐧 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐲𝐞𝐫, 𝐀𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐬 𝐄𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐞𝐬’ 𝐃𝐚𝐭𝐚 & 𝐃𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐧 𝐀𝐝𝐯𝐢𝐬𝐨𝐫.

𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐝𝐢𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐛𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐧 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐫𝐨𝐥𝐞 𝐚𝐭 𝐀𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐬?

I first started with Acres when I was in-between semesters at school because it was my summer break. I ran into Finlay at church and he mentioned that Acres was looking for someone who can do design work, and I can do that! So, he recommended me, and I started there just as a summer internship type thing. Then I went back to school, and when a full-time position opened up, Acres called me up and I officially joined the team!

𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭’𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐛𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐣𝐨𝐛?

I really enjoy seeing the data I get to work with turned into reality. I get to see things get built up as a project moves along, and it really is rewarding to see the progress and data come to life.

𝐎𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐰𝐞𝐞𝐤𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐢𝐧 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐟𝐫𝐞𝐞 𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞, 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐨𝐟𝐭𝐞𝐧 𝐝𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐠?

Oh, it all depends on the season! During the springtime, I love to mountain bike. I also sing at church. It’s a little bit different right now of course as we pre-record everything for online services, but I always look forward to that.

𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐚𝐧 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐟𝐚𝐜𝐭 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐟?

I sang in choir throughout high school and also the Kamloops Choir. I continue to sing to this day at my church.

I watch shows more than movies, but if I have to choose one movie I could watch over and over again, it would be Sahara. Steve Zahn is great in that movie!

Everybody is just really friendly. That’s something I felt right away. Everyone is comfortable at Acres, and we all take care of one another. It’s a very welcoming work environment.

𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐝𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐥𝐨𝐯𝐞 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐊𝐚𝐦𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐩𝐬?

We get all four seasons, which is great! And really, Kamloops just feels like home and it has a good sense of community. It’s a city, but it’s small enough that you feel connected to people. There’s always a high chance when I’m out and about, that I’ll see someone I know. I love running into people that I know.

𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐟𝐚𝐯𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐞 𝐦𝐞𝐚𝐥? 

There’s a default one I have to include – soft tacos. I think eat tacos more than anything else. If there was only one thing I could eat for the rest of my life, it would be tacos all the way!
