THE PROJECT

Acres was engaged with the owner and design team in a design assist and general-industrial contracting role for this project. Our experienced team of professionals provided up front services that aided in constructability and early budgeting for the work.

Alternate construction methods and materials were implemented into the design to optimize time and reduce costs.

The scope of services included:

• Comprehensive site earthworks in an environmentally and archaeologically sensitive area
• Directional drilling of 2ea 450mm HDPE pump intake casings 100m into Kamloops Lake
• Fabrication and installation of underwater manifold, intake screen and steel pile casings
• Concrete thrust block and new pump house foundations
• New intake pump house structure and architectural finishes
• Stainless steel underground piping and hot tap tie-in to existing 600mm watermain
• New electrical transformer, MCC’s and existing system
  upgrades
• Electrical controls and wiring
• Mechanical HVAC systems
• Process piping and equipment
• Removal and installation of 3 new vertical turbine pumps and VFD’s in historical booster station and associated re&re of process piping and electrical systems
•  Installation of 15 new air release valves on historic 600mm steel watermain with up to 300 psi
• System Commissioning and turnover
