West Quesnel Land Stability Phase 2

THE PROJECT
The project consisted of road and drainage improvements, which included the installation of approximately 2.4 kilometers of storm main, 200mm to 1200mm in diameter with a combination of concrete precast, cast in place and special PVC manholes used with the
larger diameter pipe.
Other works constructed throughout the project included the installation of a double barrel stormceptor, a large riprap lined outfall, and 23,500 square meters of roadworks and landscape restoration. An additional 700 meters of storm main, 600-1050mm in diameter,
was negotiated with the City of Quesnel including watermains, services and roadworks.
As a result of our high-quality performance on the execution of the contract, the City of Quesnel negotiated $1,336,040 of additional work.
The project presented a number of challenges and as such, was demanding in expertise and planning. Some of the challenges included the high volume of traffic on the main roads, which required both deep and wide excavations to accommodate the large diameter pipe, dewatering, and over thirty days of rain.
