THE PROJECT

The Deep Energy Retrofit Pilot Project is a groundbreaking initiative aimed at improving energy efficiency in a multi-unit residential building. With a target of increasing efficiency
by approximately 60%, this retrofit includes a complete transformation of the building’s envelope, mechanical systems, and energy generation capabilities.

SCOPE OF WORK

• Building Envelope Replacement: The project includes the installation of a new building envelope, featuring upgraded insulation, cladding, and a new roofing system with 15 inches of insulation. Window and Door Upgrades: All existing windows and sliding doors replaced with modern, energy-efficient options.
• Mechanical System Upgrades: The mechanical systems have been modernized to improve overall efficiency, ensuring a comfortable living environment for tenants while reducing energy consumption.
• Solar Array Installation: Cutting-edge solar arrays integrated into the project, providing renewable energy and reducing reliance on traditional power sources.

Given that the building had been fully occupied during the works, the safety and comfort of residents was prioritized. Work was completed in phases to try and limit the impact to residents.
